maria: welcome back, hour away from the opening bell to look at futures a rally underway dow jones industrial average right now up 2830 nasdaq up 213. s&p higher by 52, this is extending gains yesterday, a while week dow closed up nearly 300 markets rebounded from monday sell-off global sell-off stocks lower this week, of course, given that sell-off on monday, and take a look at the wall streets vix index down from highest that it was on money, the highest since 2020 vix index down to 23 and change has gone up to 68 meaning massive volatility joining us crossmark chief market strategist victoria has what is your reaction to volatility this week after monday's big global sell-off.

8:27 am

>> yeah, maria, obviously, we know there was a lot of that volatility driven by the yen dollar rate about unwinding because of bank of japan raising rates expectation fed going to lower rates i don't think that was only story. i do think that on friday when we gave the the jobs numbers, not that that was such an horrible report should have drin so much volatility markets to downside but kind of a culmination of things saying earnings not quite as good i think what people were expecting, wages are stagnating cracks in the labor market, manufacturing is extremely poor right now there is a lot of elements that have been building up that i think, we are setting the stage for a pullback in the markets. you combine with carry trade why are volatility we have. maria: for a long time big tech was up it was arguably overvalued so there was that as well then the question of the election, how much of that

8:28 am

uncertainty is involved in some volatility? >> look. any uncertainty the market doesn't like you add in the changes that we've seen in this election so far, that is going to increase volatility. obviously, there is a lot of concern around not knowing exactly what the policies are yet seen heard from kamala harris and her ticket yet exactly what policies will be we heard some from republican side not all as that comes out we will get a little bit more certainty, but the polls are so tight right now, again, that is causing the market, to have some volatility in it, maybe that gets a little bit better, but remember, august and september historically as you well know very poor for market as we head into election people aren't insure what is going to happen i think we see more downside you look at things like spikes of 20 day lows we haven't had that yet tickle tells you that bottom ready to turn around so

8:29 am

i would be cautious in these markets. maria: let's take a look at interest rates 10-year treasury this morning, markets awaiting federal reserve to divert recession fares with possible interest rate cuts goldman sachs david solomon predicting fed will delay cuts border patrol walking back talk raising interest rates further saying will not tighten, monitor policy when markets are unstable, you know adam that was basically took this market back the doj -- becoming first major central bank to put calm in the market saying no, no, no not keeping raising rates they raised july 31st as it that victoria talked about carry trade i don't think viewers need to worry highly technical borrow one currency buy bonds in another book differential.

8:30 am

8:31 am

heard he from guidance on many earnings calls i am talking about the consumer pulling back we even ladder from disney this morning, the parts department how much consumer pulled back, then i think you have to start being concerned when you with a look at third and fourth quarter earnings, probably won't be that double-digit number that people are expecting, that is going to bring the market back a little bit. maria: yeah, earnings season in full swing you mend disney double beat on earnings and return partly because of success, helping, disney streaming 47 mill profits of skribz going for hulu disney this week announced will start raising streaming prices by 25% mid october, to push consumers towards bund plans from warren brothers discovery after the bell, how do you you want to allocate capital here? >> yeah. i think when you have a

8:32 am

portfolio you need to add that leverage, if you are going to believe all uncertainty is still in the market going to have volatility, like we spoke about, so, when you look at the every market you have and our yes hopefully trend a lot of names hitting those high elements some high growth names, your allocating more to staple value names cheaper growth names that is where you are starting to see things pick up, i think you need an allocation to fixed income yield will probably over rest of the year trend lower. so you can pick um cap flow capital appreciation you need to add income generation in the forms of alternatives like covered killed a as well all of that together puts you in a really nice position from volatile markets from now through the end of the year. maria: all right. we will be watching, 10-year now just crossing at 3.94% up 5 1/2 basis points yields plultdz last couple days for
